Hardship Heroes Scotty Raymond Therapy Dog Grant!

Exciting news for Hardship Heroes (and Ziggy-Doo)!

We are thrilled to share that Ziggy is officially starting his therapy dog training journey! None of this would be possible without the incredible support of the Community Foundation of Monroe County through the Scotty Raymond Therapy Dog Grant. We are beyond honored to be a recipient and will do our very best to make Scotty proud with our sweet Ziggy-Doo.

Training begins on September 29th with Megan at Fulcrum Dog Training, who has already been such a wonderful guide to us in this process. After obedience training, Ziggy will take the Canine Good Citizen Test with Carol at Country Canine Club Limited. Carol was so moved by our mission that she is offering the test free of charge. What a beautiful reminder of how nonprofits and community members can come together to support one another.

From there, Ziggy will be working toward his certification through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, the big leagues!  Please send our Ziggy-Doo all the good luck and good vibes as he steps into this exciting new chapter.

On a personal note, I never imagined this would be part of my journey, but I am truly honored and humbled that our community believes in this mission and vision. With Ziggy by our side, we can continue bringing hope, healing, and joy to our Heroes.
