Hello!

I’m Roxy Brown, a transplant to the Poconos. Originally from Colorado, my family moved to Northeast PA when I was 12. While attending College at ESU, I met my husband Daryl, who is a Jim Thorpe native. After following me around the country for 10 years as I served as an officer in the Air Force, we decided to settle down in Albrightsville. We couldn’t be happier being close to family, especially with our son Owen. I’m blessed to be a stay-at-home mom, but I am driven to serve a higher purpose by helping those who need it. I work part time with a non-profit in Scranton, always keeping my eye out for local work that needs to be done. Daryl met Emily’s husband, Josh, through a business network and began telling me about Emily and her endeavor with Hardship Heroes. Her mission touched my heart. It is a mission that gave words to a desire I have to help those in a way that isn’t already being served. Life experiences have taught me that the feeling of loneliness can be worse than a traumatic experience in itself. Loneliness after trauma is far too common and the only way to combat it is with connection. That’s what drew me to Hardship Heroes. Emily’s mission of giving families connection and hope during their darkest times is a mission worth growing. Seeing first hand the light that these experiences give has been transformative and I am overjoyed for the opportunity to help Hardship Heroes reach more families in need of joy.
