Cherylās family has weathered a deeply emotional and challenging year. Last December, her husband spent 24 away from her and the kids receiving care for mental health struggles. This was his first time away from Cheryl and their three boys in 11 years. His absence meant missing their son Kamrenās 6th birthday and even Christmas morning. It was a heartbreaking season for the children and for Cheryl, who found herself trying to hold everything together while missing the person who was always by her side.
At the time, Cheryl had to step away from work because her sonās kindergarten schedule made it impossible to manage both her job and the needs of her young boys. For someone who has worked consistently since the age of 16, being unemployed was an unfamiliar and painful reality. Then, just as the family began to find their footing again, her husband suffered more health challenges, and in February he was away for 8 more days.
Despite the setbacks, Cherylās strength never wavered. She focused on ensuring her husband was safe and her boys were cared for, even as they fell behind financially. In July, she finally returned to work, beginning the long process of catching up on months of debt and emotional recovery.
Through it all, their three boys have shown incredible compassion and love, always caring for others, even when their own hearts were heavy. Cheryl and her husband are known for giving back to their community whenever possible, whether itās helping the homeless or checking in on elderly neighbors. This holiday season, what they want most isnāt material, itās a moment of joy together as a family. A day to laugh, to reconnect, and to restore a little of the magic that was lost last year.
A visit from Santa, a day filled with fun and entertainment, a reminder to their children that even after hard seasons, love and light can return.
